Documentary storytelling allows audiences to connect deeply with real people, real struggles, and real impact. As a photojournalist at KMBC 9 News, I had the privilege of contributing to several long-form documentaries in the KMBC 9 Chronicle series—handling cinematography, editing, and motion graphic design to bring each story to life.

 

Notable works include:

• The War Within – A Regional Emmy-winning piece exploring veterans and mental health. I contributed a unique creative element by introducing singing bowls throughout the story, even matching their tones to music selections to heighten the emotional depth and cohesion of the piece.

• The King, The Clown, and The G – A deep-dive into Tech N9ne’s journey to becoming a KC rap legend.

• Pioneers. Patriots. Trailblazers. – Aired on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, featuring Susanna Salter, the first woman mayor in the U.S.
